When it comes to improvements on voting systems, there are some long-standing methods used in democracy that may now make sense to revisit:

1. Should you pick a single candidate from a list of candidates?  Why can you not pick two candidates?  Or weight your entry 60/40 in the favor of one candidate and another.
2. If you are in favour of something or you oppose something, you should have good reasoning.  Otherwise, your vote should be neutral.

The Kingston City voting system which forces you to select a candidate from each category when in fact you have no idea of who any of these people are on the list.  In that case, it is likely that the first person on the list would get the highest votes.  Or some other weak influential factor.
