Elon Derangement Syndrome
People think crazy. I don’t understand it. I had a discussion with someone close to me.
Elon seemed to have picked the wrong political candidate with Trump. A seemingly unforgivable sin.
I don’t endorse Trump. I liked his show on the Apprentice. I see him as an actor. As such, I don’t attach my feelings towards him more than I would Ralph Fiennes.
Trump isn’t some unique president where rules of past presidents don’t apply to him.
Presidents get behind spending bills. And as soon as you realize the implications of this, it’s no wonder the highest level players will be competing to dominate the narrative with the US budget.
And that’s that. So we are fucked right?
Well, what would happen if strength and capaibility outgrows tyranny? The situation where construction beats destruction. Where the scales are tipped towards good instead of bad.
I think it’s quite clear. Construction (Hey, let’s go to Mars!) would be a better goal for the planet to work towards over destrction (Let’s drop more bombs).
So, what prevents us from doing this?
People really don’t understand the level at which Elon is playing at. He needs to stay alive while the worlds greatest destroyers insist on carrying out their agenda.
Elon is trying to go to Mars. There is nothing proposed more ambitions than that. And even if somebody did claim that… here, I can do that. Let’s go to Titan! Look at me! I am the most ambitious person on Earth. All I need is a rocket company to launch for me and I am more ambitious than 99.9% of businesses.
Isn’t that fantastic? Yes. Fantasy. I can’t launch rockets, unless I paid SpaceX to do it. Which with the decline in $/Kg for payload, I might be able to some day.
But despite my argument with my loved one, pointing out that construction is clearly the best way to go and Elon is the most construvtive human, there was craziness.
The claim immediately countered to Elon is destructive because Trump.
I didn’t think of it at the time, but I guarentee the arguement would fall apart if I mentioned that had Kamala won, in part because Elon threw his endorsement behind her, would he be held accountable for her worst decisions?
Like let’s say Kamala tripled her success with illegal immagration. Bringing in tens of millions more people. And the stress that this caused on the housing market such that houses were listed at quardruiple the cost. That would also be Elon’s fault right? For backing Kamala instead of staying out of politics.
So why is it that backing Trump vs. Kamala would have such a double standard. Well, it only makes sense if Trump isn’t Ralph Fiennes.
If Trump isn’t Voldemorte, but just the actor playing Voldemorte, then that is one way to look at it.
But if you believe Trump is Voldemorte… the repel you feel and obligation to go the other way is staggering.
The other way is destruction. Creation is the way to go. 100%. Destruction is the opposite of the way to go. We don’t want more Gaza. This is bananas.
I couldn’t believe the arguments that came back. But Elon’s father…
Because of Elon’s father, Elon doesn’t have pain receptors. He has a neurological bypass that causes him to ignore all pain. It’s quite unhealthy and a major concern which I hope Elon is momentarily mindful of, if he were to ever read this.
His child who disowned him? How do I pick sides on that? Well… I guess start at a place where I would have to be with my father where I would publically denounce him and change my name. But I can’t get there. I can’t think of how bad or what situations would lead up to me thinking that of my father.
So I can’t relate. Elon on the other hand. I didn’t see Elon disowning his child. I saw Elon questioning (as he should) medical advice he was given and the ethics and incentives surrounding the circumstance.
But ultimately, even if you disagree with Elon on that, is the reaction that Elon is Voldemorte in any way sensible?
Elon isn’t Voldemorte. He’s the opposite. Even if he got Voldemorte voted in, he isn’t responsible for everything Voldemorte does. All he can do, is move his fastest in the opposite direction of desctruction as he possibly can. In this regard, he is winning.
